Sovilla E. (Yoder) Gingerich, 98 of Arthur, IL passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Steven Brenneman Residence, 1760 B CR 2300 North, Arthur, IL. Bishop Steven Brenneman will officiate. Visitation will be anytime after 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025 and anytime after 10:00 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025 all at Steven Brenneman residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Sovilla was born on September 4, 1927 to Eli D. and Katie Ann (Mast) Yoder. She married Benjamin W. Gingerich on October 13, 1949, he passed away on August 29, 1986.
She is survived by ten children, Seranus Lamar Gingerich and his wife Carolyn of Arcola, IL, Eli William Gingerich and his wife Doris of Sullivan, IL, Marlin Benjamin Gingerich and his wife Tillie of Arcola, IL, Susanna Marie Jess and her husband Omer of Arthur, IL, John Marcus Gingerich and his wife Mattie Marie of Arthur, IL, Katie Ellen Yoder and her husband Lewis of Lovington, IL, Leah Irene Chupp and her husband Eli of Sullivan, IL, Barbara Fern Jess and her husband Philip of Arthur, IL, Steven Rufus Gingerich of Goshen, IN, and Rosemary Sovilla Gingerich of Arthur, IL, one son-in-law, Gary Miller and his wife, Dorothea of Ava, IL, 94 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 280 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, 1 sister, Elsie Schrock, and 1 sister-in-law, Fannie Gingerich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter, Elizabeth Jane Miller, 6 grandchildren, 4 brothers: Willis, Willard, Adlai and Daniel Yoder, 1 stillborn brother, and 4 sisters: Mattie, Verna, Susanna and Edna.
Sovilla was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
