Stanley Beggs, age 77, of Marion, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his home in Marion.
Stanley was born on April 14, 1947 in Anna, IL, to Stanley Hale and Jenivie (Cavett) Beggs. He married Cassandra Gail Holman on April 6, 1994 and together they shared 31 years of marriage.
Stanley worked as a laborer at Johnson Press in Pontiac, IL until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He enjoyed buying, selling, and trading. Stanley enjoyed collecting model cars and spending time with his wife, and his dogs. He attended Community Chapel Church of Marion and loved being able to attend the worship services.
Survivors include his wife, Cassandra Beggs of Marion; daughter, Rachel Ann Beggs of Morris, IL; step-daughter, Jeana Marie Guzman of Marion; step-son, Eugene Curtis Jones, Jr. of Marion; step-son, Pryce Edward (Tracy) Jones of Marion; step-daughter, Ava Marie Jones Brush of Carterville; sister, Mary Claudine Hancock of Pontiac, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Ronald "Pork Chop" Holman; one brother; and one sister.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
A time of visitation will be held at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Following the time of visitation, the funeral service will be at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jearlds presiding.
Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, IL.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the "The Promise Mission." Contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
