Stanley Lawrence

Stanley Lawrence, 72, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 13, 1949, the son of Wendall Eugene Lawrence and Glestine Maude (Hooker) Wilbur.
Stan attended Kellogg High School and served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam Era where he received a National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal and Vietnamese Campaign Medal. He was employed at the Battle Creek Veterans Medical Center for 22 years and at Battle Creek Glass for 5 years. He was a member of the PTSD Support Group at the VA and the American Legion. He went to the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Reunion in Kokomo, IN every year.
Stan is survived by his Wife of 36 years, Linda Kay (Dyas) Lawrence; Sons, Kevin (Lyly) Lawrence, Stanley "J.R." (Angie) Lawrence Jr., Corey (Kari) Lawrence and William "Billy" Conine; Daughters, Sheri (Chris Andrews) Conine and Shanon (Lynn) Carpenter; 23 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Joyce Hanger and Sharon Lawrence; Brothers, Wendall (Becky) Lawrence Sr., Ralph Lawrence and Jerry (Lynda) Lawrence; Sister-in-Law & Brother-in-Law, Diane (Daniel) Burghdoff and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers, Robert Lawrence, Albert Lawrence, Charles Lawrence, John Lawrence and Warren Lawrence: Sisters, Shirley Hoffman and Carol Hard.
Stan loved watching wrestling and enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, deer hunting, working on cars, yard work, traveling, playing cards, car shows, his dogs "Peanut & Charlie", his cat "Misty", his tractor, his truck and going to the casino where he enjoyed playing sizzling 7's. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Fort Custer National Cemetery on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 12:00pm with a celebration of life to follow at the Lyons Club of Bedford.
Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
