Stanley E. Lawrence passed away on Monday September 9, 2024 after a long life well lived. He was born on May 19, 1935 to the late Robert and Margaret (Eynon) Lawrence.
He graduated from Meadville High School in 1953. Following a stint in the US Army, where he served two years in Germany,, he began his long and productive career in the tool and die industry. He entered the apprentice program at Talon and went on to be an instructor for apprentices for 15 years before working at other shops. He retired as Manager of Sprint Tool and Die.
Stan enjoyed being in his woodworking shop building furniture etc. He liked gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing and especially bicycling which he continued to do into his eighties. He was a "Mr. Fix-it" and was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need; fixing cars, plumbing or any emergency.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sandra (Rhodes), his son, Mark Lawrence and his wife, Stacy and his brother, David Knickerbocker and his wife, Kathie.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and his brother, William Knickerbocker.
He will be fondly remembered by friends, neighbors and extended family whose lives he touched over the years.
As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
