Mr. Stanley F. Massingill, 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Karen Hamby Massingill for almost fifty-eight years, of Graniteville, South Carolina, entered into rest on Monday, December 8, 2025.
The family will greet friends on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 3 PM at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 526 Hitchcock Parkway, Aiken, South Carolina 29801. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4 PM.
Left to cherish Stanley's memory along with his wife, Karen of Aiken, South Carolina are his children, Mandy Weng (Wayne), of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Matthew Stan Massingill (Wendy), of Clearwater, Florida; a brother, Douglas Oscar Massingill, of Central, South Carolina and five grandchildren, Rebecca Kathleen Whatley (Todd), Nathan Lee Weng (Rylie), Jacob Matthew Massingill, Jonah Levi Massingill, and Emily Grace Massingill.
Stanley was born in Greenville County, South Carolina, to the late Folger Herman and Essie Inez Abercrombie Massingill. He was a 1967 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Civil Engineering. Stanley proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant from 1967 to 1969. He was a retired nuclear engineer with the Savannah River Site with nineteen years of service.
A charter and dedicated member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, he served as a Deacon and led the Combat Support Veterans' Group.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Disabled Veterans Association. Stanley volunteered for the Charlie Norwood Veterans Association Medical Center, enjoyed reading, and he especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.

Another American Patriot and distinguished Clemson Alum now rests in honored glory as God's newest angel. I met Stan during our Clemson years (1963-1967) and became military compatriots during our Clemson ROTC program. May God's loving hand guide each family member and loved ones as they long remember the sterling legacy of this great American. Earl Grubbs, Barnwell native, CU 67, Retired Army
