In loving memory, our beloved Stanley Robinson, father, brother, cousin, and friend traded this life for a place on heavenly grounds on Sunday, July 6, 2025
Stanley Robinson was born to the late James (Jimmy) Freeman and Lucille Robinson Burnett on March 12, 1954 in Hope Mills, North Carolina.
Stanley graduated from Gray's Creek High School in Hope Mills, North Carolina in 1972, where he helped to integrate the once segregated school. Stanley was a great student and a leader. He was dedicated to helping his family and friends in any way possible. His family had great respect for his leadership and welcomed his advice. His daughters said," We could ask him anything." Those skills were evident in his role as supervisor of the custodial staff in the public schools of Albany, New York. He retired from the school
system but continued the hard work as he dedicated himself to the love of God.
Stanley re-dedicated his life to God's love as he renewed his membership at Swans Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Stanley absolutely loved reading "the Bible."
Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lucille Robinson Burnett, and father: James "Jimmy" Freeman; brothers; Anthony Louis Burnett, Earl Burnett, Jr. Thaddeus Burnett; and sisters: Sandra Burnett and Cheryl Burnett.
He is survived by his children, Lolita Robinson and Joy Genene Bakare (Adebayo); his stepchildren, Zeda Starkes, Michael Starkes, and Jelea Giles; and his beloved grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Coleson Bakare, Noah Bakare and Asher Bakare; his siblings: Alva Burnett, Lynn Carmon (Anthony), Glenn Burnett
(Charmaim), and D'Andre Burnett (Kathy) and a host of nieces and nephews and their spouses.
