Stanley Brooks Roll III, 75, a lifelong resident of Springfield, NJ, passed away on Tuesday February 4, 2025. Stan was a graduate of Jonathan Dayton High School, Springfield, and Rutgers University. He was retired from the Union County Board of Social Services. An avid theatre goer, Stan enjoyed going into New York for Broadway productions, as well as locally to the Papermill Playhouse, and the Shakespeare Festival at Drew University. A dedicated Rutgers University sports fan, Stan enjoyed spending time in Cape Cod, where he also attended community theatre. Stan was the beloved son of the late Stanley B. Roll Jr. and Arline Catherine Hermes Roll. He is survived by his brother Steven W. Roll and wife Ruth Altamura-Roll, and nephew Christopher Roll and wife Jamee. Stan's visitation will be from 1:00-3:00PM Saturday February 8, 2025, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 3:00PM at Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, NJ.
