Stefana Baggio, a cherished matriarch and beacon of love, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Purdys, New York, at the age of 91. Born on June 14, 1934, in the picturesque landscapes of Sicily, Italy, Stefana carried the warmth of her homeland throughout her life, spreading it generously to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Stefana's journey to the United States marked a new chapter in her life where she would cultivate a family that revered her strength, guidance, and unconditional love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santi Baggio, and her dear siblings, Loreto, Giovani, Rosa, and Antonio. Stefana's legacy continues through her surviving children: Sina Adamo, Peter Baggio, John Baggio, Anthony Baggio, and Anna Spano, and son in law Dominick Spano. Each child was a testament to her dedication and nurturing spirit.
Her grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, Domenick, and Michael, will remember their grandmother as a pillar of wisdom and kindness. Stefana's joy was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Emmalyn, Anthony, Briella, Andrew, and Michael who brought her immeasurable happiness.
A devoted homemaker, Stefana's hands were often busy creating culinary masterpieces that not only fed the body but also the soul. Her recipes were crafted with love and have become treasured heirlooms within the family. Stefana was a devout Christian, living her faith through her actions and compassion, always embodying the virtues of patience and forgiveness.
Stefana's interests extended beyond the home as well. She relished the simple pleasures of life, such as shopping, where she found joy in the bustling aisles and the hunt for the perfect item. Her strong will was admired by many, a testament to her resilience and determination in the face of life's challenges.
Above all, Stefana's heart belonged to her family. She was the unwavering foundation upon which her family was built. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them, instilling values and traditions that will endure for generations.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 30, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Ave Carmel, NY 10512.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 1, 2025 at St. James the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Following Mass, Stefana will be escorted to her final resting place alongside her beloved Husband, Santi (2004) at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 100 Mill St, Putnam Valley, NY 10579.
