LATHAM - Stelios Baltis, 80, of Latham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12,2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Theva, Greece, and was the son of the late Basilios and Hariklia Baltis. Stelios served in the Greek Navy and Merchant Marines for several years. He immigrated to the United States in 1968. Stelios became a 1st Class electrician, working alongside his brother, Peter, at Baltis Electric Company. He later was foreman for Dwight Electric and IBEW 236 for many years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Mary Baltis. A loving and dedicated father, the joy of his life was raising his two wonderful children, Theodore Basil Baltis and Stephanie Roseanne Holmes. He is the grandfather of Maya Autumn Holmes. Stelios is the brother of Peter (Kathy) Baltis and the late Theodore (Glikeria survives) Baltis, and the late John (Jeanne) Petalas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, 11 a.m., at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Rd., Albany. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Church.
