Stella Vigil was born in San Jose, New Mexico to her proud parents, Donato and Epimenia Lucero. She was the oldest of the 6 siblings. She met her husband, Eliseo Vigil, while working as a nurse at St. Mary's hospital in Las Vegas, NM. Together, they had 10 children. Donald, Priscilla, Marcia, Kenneth, Edwin, David (AKA-Ricky), Thomas, Lawrence, Theresa and Annabell (passed away as an infant).
Stella has 20 grandchildren,37 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Stella loved the Lord and her family very much. Her love of the Lord brought her to St Elizabeth Church in Oakland, California where she served the Church with great distinction as a Sacristan and served humbly as president and secretary for the Legion of Mary.
She went home to be with the Lord on August 1st, 2024, after a brief illness at the age of 100 years old. Friends and family are invited to attend the services at St Elizabeth church in Oakland on August 20th, 2024, at 10am. Burial to follow immediately after at St. Mary's Cemetery, 4529 Howe St Oakland, CA, 94611. A reception will be held at Franciscan Room, across from St. Elizabeth Church after burial service.
