Obituary
MILLBURY – Stella (Gwozdowski) Weldon, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7th surrounded by her loving family.
Stella leaves her son, Paul W. Weldon and his wife, Karen of Sutton; two granddaughters, Lauren M. Weldon of Millbury and Nicole S. Weldon of Miami, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Walter A. Weldon; her parents, Alex and Helen Gwozdowski and seven siblings.
Stella was born and grew up in Sutton on her family's farm, which were some of her fondest memories throughout her life. Stella and Walter were married in 1949 and raised their family on Canal Street for many wonderful years. Stella was a faithful parishioner of St. Brigid Church for her whole life. Stella spent her life caring and giving to everyone around her. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, and spending time with her family. Most of all she loved and was so proud of her two granddaughters. Stella will be remembered for her strength and for being an independent, hard-working woman.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Stella's life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 11th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury, MA 01527.
