Stephan L. Ruh, 80, of Anderson, Indiana, who brightened the lives of everyone around him, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital. Born on August 11, 1945, to Stephan L. Ruh, Jr. and Virginia (Fadley) Ruh, he lived a life full of joy, love, and laughter.
Steve was the kind of guy who made a lasting impression. He attended Ball State University and proudly served in the United States Air Force before diving into a fulfilling career as a foreman at General Motors in Anderson. He had a special bond with his high school sweetheart, Carol Joy (Dew) Ruh, with whom he shared his life since the seventh grade. Together, they were a true testament to love and companionship.
Golf was Steve's true passion. He loved nothing more than hitting the links with his buddies, enjoying the sunshine, and sharing laughs on the course. He had a childhood love for baseball and found joy in fishing at the lake. Getting together with friends for card games and pizza was a highlight of his days, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Above all, grandchildren were Steve's life and brought the most joy to him. He was known for his laugh that was so infectious.
He is survived by his son, Stephan Thomas (significant other, Heather Woods) Ruh; Nieces and Nephews, Chasey Howells, Sandy (husband, Randy) Hatfield, Rene Hartman, Mike Breckenridge, Steve (wife, Emily) Rodecap, and Scott (wife, Deb) Rodecap; Several great-nieces and nephews; Grandchildren, Olivia Foskuhl, Alex Foskuhl, and Luke Poynter; Special friends, The Bakers, The McNabney's, and the Reger's; He is also survived by his best friend, Lloyd Ford.
Stephan is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol, and daughter, Alison "Paige" Ruh.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes & Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
A funeral service will follow visitation starting at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will conclude services at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
