Marjorie Ruh, 87, passed away surrounded by her family on September 17th, leaving behind a legacy of love. Born July 9th in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Edna Bonnell and Rhea Stephens, Marjorie was the second of four children.

Marjorie's love story began at a dance, where she met William G. Ruh shortly after he returned home from the Korean war. That night sparked a partnership that would last more than 70 years. Together, they built their life on the family homestead in Briggsdale, Colorado, where they raised their children rooted in hard work and the everyday joys of farming and ranching.

The role Marjorie cherished most was being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her children, Darrel (Jennifer) Ruh, Cheryl Ruh, Susan (Timothy) Swanson and Douglas (Carrie) Ruh, know her as a steady source of love and encouragement, always proud of their accomplishments both big and small. She passed that same spirit down to her grandchildren, who know her as a grandmother who could never spoil them enough. She would call just to check in and see how everyone was doing and sometimes simply to share that her lilies were blooming and how beautiful they looked. Those small gestures captured her perfectly, always finding joy in life's details and wanting to share it with the people she loved.

Marjorie also had many passions outside of her family. She love to read, kept beautiful gardens and had a special devotion to her Main Coon cats, which she raised and proudly showed for many years. She also worked for the Humane Society, pouring her care and compassion into protecting animals in need.

She was deeply patriotic and believed strongly in the importance of civic duty. Her love for her country and community showed how she served others. In 2012, Majorie, along with her two daughters and one granddaughter, ran the polling center in their town during the presidential race. She served as election judge during many elections, showing up year after year because she believed in the power and responsibility of every vote.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William, her four children, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She also has a surviving sister, Kathy. Marjorie lived a life filled with love, laughter and purpose. She leaves behind a family that will carry her memory forward in every holiday gathering, every blooming flower, every good book and every warm hug shared. She will be deeply missed but forever celebrated in the hearts of these who were lucky enough to love her.
