Stephanie “Lonis” Gutierrez Flores of Corpus Christi, TX, loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed on November 1st.
Stephanie was born on October 9, 1988 in Hobbs, NM. As part of a Navy family, she found herself starting new adventures in Colorado and Texas as a child. She loved spending time with family in the mountains, Estes Park, Red Rocks, Pikes Peak, the Incline, the Royal Gorge, and the Garden of the Gods to name a few. After moving to Portland, TX, she was immediately drawn to the water where the open air soothed her. The beach was one of her favorite places and where she felt at peace. Her favorite places in the area were North Beach, Bob Hall Pier, and the ferry ride to Port Aransas where she would lovingly hold the kids for a good view.
Always a little helper as a child, motherhood came naturally. She wholeheartedly fulfilled her role as a mother, teacher, and caregiver, always finding a way to have fun with her children. Her parenting rules were non-traditional and mirrored her free-spirit.
She was a fierce friend, loyal and supportive. Those who knew her struggles armed her with strength as she had done so for so many.
She found joy in things that touched and fed her soul, made her laugh, and made others laugh.
Stephanie is survived by her four children, Trevor, Isaiah, Shyne, and Jaxn; parents Leticia and Daniel Kanmore of Portland, TX; father, Adan Gutierrez of Lovington, NM; sister, Lily Gutierrez of Lovington, NM; brother, Caleb Kanmore of Portland, TX; maternal grandparents, Evangelina and Exiquio Hernandez of Lovington, NM, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Steph was very kind to me and opened her home to me when she didn't know me at all. Man, she could cook a meal. She was beautiful, inside and out. She was my friend.
