Stephen Bert Calcari was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on September 8,1955 to Albert and Laverne Calcari; big brother to Brett and Dawn Calcari. Stephen grew up hunting and fishing with a great love for the outdoors; a passion he shared with honorary brother, Mark Pawlowski. That love would stay with him throughout his life. As a young man, he graduated with a BSBA in finance and began a 40-year career in banking as a mortgage lender. In 1986, he met the love of his life, Linda Daut. Two years later they married and Stephen immediately began fatherhood, with a nineteen-year-old son, David (Angelique), and twin 13-year-old girls, Tina (deceased) and Tara (Amber deceased). Like everything else, he excelled at it. He became "Papa" to 12 grandchildren: Corinne Harkins (Zack), Aaron Daut (Megan), Jacqueline Daut, Cody Reibold, Derek Reibold, Dylan Reibold, Jackson Spearman, Hope Ruwe, Alyssa Condon, Kyle Condon, Sofia Abbinante, Olivia Abbinante; 6 great-grandchildren: Kaden Young, Karly Dellaguardia, Kynzlee Young, Max Daut, Patrick Daut, and Niko Harkins.A recent comment from Stephen was, "This family is all I ever wanted."Stephen was a servant at heart, whether helping others to purchase a home in his daily work or helping others through volunteering at church. He was a Trustee of Community Church of Rolling Meadows in Illinois. In retirement, Stephen and Linda relocated to Lake of the Ozarks, where he served in various capacities at Community Christian Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Marrying his love for Jesus, community service with the love of fishing, Stephen started the annual Fishing Expo to support local, charitable needs. The local fishing community knows him as the founder of Papa's Custom Baits. Additionally, Stephen started SBC Woodworks born out of a love for wood working, he blessed many with custom pieces built with love. Stephen passed from this life into the next peacefully and surrounded by family on August 14, 2025 no doubt to those beautiful words, "Well, done thy good and faithful servant." Memorial donations may be made to Community Christian Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
