Stephen Michael Criniti

Stephen Michael Criniti, 73, of Wheeling, WV passed away peacefully at Liza's Place on June 26, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Montgomery, WV on April 1, 1951 to Frank and Mary Criniti. He was a 1969 graduate of Charleston Catholic High School and a 1973 graduate of Wheeling College. He later returned to Wheeling Jesuit University for a Master of Business in Accounting degree in 1995. His life's work was in accounting with Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, Ormet Corporation, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, and Wheeling Jesuit University. He also served as an adjunct instructor in the Business Program at Wheeling Jesuit University. He retired in 2013 to spend time with his family, his true life's work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Criniti, Sr. and Mary G. Criniti, and his brother Frank Criniti, Jr.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Kathryn Burnett Criniti; his three children, Jen (Brian) Komorowski, Stephen (Mary Beth) Criniti, and Amy (Mark) Phillips; his five doting grandchildren Andrew, Thomas & Meredith Komorowski, Matthew Criniti, and Benjamin Phillips; and his brother Michael (Debbie) Criniti.
In life he was a man of few words, but he spoke voluminously with his actions. A man of great faith and impeccable moral character, his presence will be dearly missed but his legacy will live on with all those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street in Wheeling on Sunday, June 30 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Parish in Wheeling with internment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
