Stephen "Steve" Henry Farr, 88, of Ridgebury passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
He was predeceased by his father, Aloysius Leon Farr, his mother, Bessie Louise Farr (Wilcox), and sister, Rose Mary Farr Handrick.
Steve is survived by his sisters, Eileen Farr and Lorraine Farr, as well as his nephew, Dayton M. Handrick, IV (Tricia Handrick) and his niece, Sarah Eyster (Andrew Eyster) and their children Andrew II and John Dayton.
Steve worked for Skil-Built in Elmira, New York, before delivering cement in the Elmira area. Later, he was a loyal delivery man for Seals Lumber in Athens for many years. He also raised beef cows and enjoyed being outdoors on his farm in Ridgebury over the course of his life.
He was a life-long and active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ridgebury where he was a regular usher as an adult. He also served on Our Lady's Cemetery Association board for many years.
Steve enjoyed hunting with long-time hunting buddy Denny Neubauer. The two hunted in Ridgebury and loved their trips to hunt in the western states as well. He was also a member of the Highmarked Hunting Club in upstate New York where he often hunted with friend George Bellinger. Steve was a longstanding fan of the New York Giants and San Francisco Giants and loved to feed and watch the birds.
The family is being assisted by the Lowery Funeral Home in Athens, PA.
Services will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
