Stephen Paul "Steve" Goodman, age 74, left his family and friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 10, 1950, to Paul Dean and Barbara Ann (Kolaski) Goodman. He married Patricia Anne Hendon on February 14, 1996, and took on the loving job of caring for her three daughters and grandchildren.
Steve had many jobs over the years including a part-time police office for the City of Ithaca and retired from Soaring Eagle Casino after 12 years of service. His favorite job was working on Mackinac Island for the summer. Steve coached men and women's softball for several years. He loved old movies, reading, fishing, watching Detroit teams with his brother Roger, trips to Lake Michigan, his dogs and cats, home improvements projects, politics (strong Democrat), music, Disney, museums, and antiquing for the next great music album to add to his extensive collection. Steve was a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife Pat; sister Cheryl (Kent) Cahlander; brothers Roger (Linda) Goodman, P.J. (Julie) Goodman, Jim Goodman, Joseph (Melanie) Goodman, Gary Goodman, Paul (Mona) Goodman; step-daughters Sarah (Shawn) Oaks, Kristy (Kris) Cook; and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by loved ones including his parents and step-daughter Mollie O'Meara.
