With great sadness we announce the sudden loss of our loving brother, Stephen Allen Jones 64, on May 2,2023
Please join us for a memorial service celebrating his life. We will gather at Moseley's Funeral Home, 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC to remember Stephen at 2pm, on June 10, 2023. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, prior to the service at Moseley's Funeral home, 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC.
Stephen was born to Paul C & Ethel B. Jones on August 8, 1958, in Rochester, New York. As a child, he loved being outdoors and would play sports with his brother and friends out in the street in front of their home. His father used to take him and his brother to his father's company bowling center and help set up the pins which led to his love of bowling. During high school and into his adulthood, Steve became a great bowler and bowled in tournaments and was in bowling leagues most of his life.
After high school, Stephen worked at Delco, a division of General Motors in NY until his early retirement and then became a long-distance truck driver until his passing. He served in the Army and remained in the Army National Guard for many years. He relocated to SC and remained in SC for many years until he eventually relocated to Lenoir NC a few years ago to remain close to the company he was employed with.
He was born and raised Catholic and remained steadfast in his faith in God. He was an animal lover, enjoyed fishing, sports, cars and racing, listened to rock and roll as loud as he could. He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and even named one of his cats Little E. His favorite food was Italian and had a passionate love affair with Little Caesar's Pizza.Stephen had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back which is why he was always without cash.He never met a stranger, and he was loved by many. He worked hard and played hard.
