Stephen Koziak Obituary

Koziak, Stephen R. "Steve" Stephen R. "Steve" Koziak, age 71, met his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at home. He was born on May 25, 1950 to Steve and Dorothy (Kennert) Koziak in Muskegon, MI and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School class of 1968. Steve was a dedicated employee of Howmet, where he worked for numerous years as a Supervisor until he retired in 2008. On January 15, 1972 he married the love of his life, the former Kathryn Cyr in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 49 years filled with many memories. He was an avid outdoors man and truly enjoyed hunting in St. Johns, MI and fishing. Steve was also a true football fan, whether he was cheering on the U of M Wolverines or rooting for Mona Shores football team every Friday night. He was a loving husband, proud father, and wonderful grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and was usually pool side with all 13 grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor and boisterous and booming voice. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Koziak; 3 sons, Scott (Amanda) Koziak, Matthew (Melissa) Koziak and Michael (Jennifer) Koziak; 13 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Janice Childs and Judy (David) Green; and brother, Mark Koziak. He is preceded by his parents. A Celebration of Stephen's Life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Muskegon, MI 49444. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stephen's honor can be made to the American Cancer Society. Well respected as a facilitator, something that easily eludes us in today's world. With Steve you got what you paid for, always knew where you stood. Old school...honesty,integrity. Hunting, fishing, sports, friends, family all topics that could bring a twinkle to his eyes or a heart felt laugh. Carole and I were blessed to have worked with him. Precious memories so many of us will cherish. Thank you Steve and family.
