Stephen Carl Lehman, age 72, passed away on November 29, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas. Born on April 30, 1953, in Mt. Home, Idaho, Stephen was the son of a military family that moved to Kerrville in 1967. He graduated from Tivy High School in 1971 and went on to attend Texas A&M University before joining the Army. In 1985, he transitioned into the security industry, where he began a lifelong journey in cybersecurity and internet technology.

Stephen returned to Kerrville in 2005, where he fulfilled his entrepreneurial spirit by opening “The Computer Tutor and Trouble Shooter,” providing invaluable computer technical support to the community. Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve was a dedicated community member who actively contributed to various causes.

He served as an instructor with the local Community Emergency Response Team and volunteered over 160 hours at the Emergency Operations Center following the devastating flood on July 4th. Recognizing the importance of community preparedness, he co-founded the Hill Country Preppers organization with his sister, Gina Lehman Stewart, to educate locals about disaster readiness.

Steve was passionate about teaching and generously offered his time at the Dietert Center to instruct computer classes for seniors. He was also a committed member of the Kerr County Republican party, serving on the executive committee and as Precinct Chair for Precinct  312 for many years. His views on freedom, the Constitution, and fiscal responsibility were expressed through over 100 letters to the editor and guest columns, and he frequently shared his insights as a guest on local radio programs.

An active participant in local events, Steve was often seen at gun shows and swap meets, supporting numerous community activities throughout Kerr County. His dedication to veterans' organizations, the Kerr County Interagency, Hill Country Patriots, and the Fredericksburg Tea Party demonstrated his commitment to service and collaboration. He cherished the friendships he made within the Vicksburg Village men’s group and his billiards team, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty and kindness.

Stephen was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kerrville. He is survived by his beloved mother, Patsy Lehman, his sister Gina Lehman Stewart, his brothers John Lehman and Martin Lehman, his uncle and aunt Jim and Claire Graves, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his two cherished dogs, Spencer and Chica. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lehman.

The community is invited to honor Stephen’s life at a memorial service on January 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kerrville Funeral Home, located at 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Stephen C. Lehman will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his profound impact on the community and the countless lives he touched with his unwavering spirit of friendship and service.
