Born in Wichita, Kansas, Steve was a graduate of Kapaun High School. A proud veteran, he then served in the U.S. Navy and served several years stationed in Antarctica. He then attended Kansas State University for several years. Steve, an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, loved the Flint Hills and spent the rest of his life in Manhattan. The highlight of every year was attending deer camp in Woodson County with his sister Linda and her husband Jerry, his brother David, an many long-time friends. Steve was proceeded in death by his parents, Bill and Judy McKenzie. He is survived by his brother David and his wife Cindy of Springfield, MO, his sister Linda and her husband Jerry Tucker of Peck, KS, and his brother Scott and his wife Susan of Wichita, KS and his nieces and nephews: Tracy, Todd, Ryan, Patrick, Megan, Emma, and Benjamin.
