It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Stephen G. Montgomery, 81, who departed this life peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Stephen was born February 12, 1944 in South Boston to John and Ruth Montgomery. He was a long-time Quincy resident and worked for the former Boston Gear Works in Quincy. He later worked in construction as a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union, Local #3.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Florence E. "Flo" Montgomery. He is lovingly remembered by his children; Debi Salverio and her husband Stephen "Buggsie", Diane R. Montgomery and her husband Kevin Mullin, Leanne Galvin and her husband Jay, Stephen P. Montgomery and his wife Holly. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Steve had a great sense of humor and an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking and traveling near and far. Steve was a strong, loving, generous man that left his family with a lifetime of memories.
Plans for a celebration of Steve's life will be held at a later date, allowing us to come together to honor his memory. Steve's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
