Stephen E. Oisten

It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen E. Oisten announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle on October 11, 2024 due to stage IV squamous cell carcinoma. He was 69 years old.
Steve, was born on August 20,1955. It was only 359 days before his little sister Deanna. She stood by his side for all of his years and especially in the last few years of his life as his best friend and caretaker. Steve was the 7th of 9 children into the Oisten Clan. He was born and raised in Cheyenne, and attended Central High School.
Steve worked as a cook at Mountain Towers, Husky's Truck Stop, and the State of Wyoming Cafeteria. After retiring, he was lucky to spend many years enjoying hunting and camping with his brothers and close friends, known as the F-Troop. When he wasn't busy running the country side with the brothers, he would spend many hours completing complex puzzles, watching any western movie he could find, and wouldn't miss his favorite court TV show, Judge Judy. It was his quiet personal time that he enjoyed the most.
Steve was a very ornery man. He had many hurdles to overcome since the day he was born, but despite the many obstacles and setbacks he faced, he defeated them all as long as he could with grace, tremendous courage, a fight for life, and a sweet soul that just couldn't be held down.
He is survived by his brothers, James and David (Bobette), sisters, Pamela (Dick), Deanna (Rick), and Lesa (Toby). Numerous nieces and nephews and even great nieces and nephews. We all will miss this grouchy old man more than words can ever express.
He is preceded in death by his brother Jack, parents, James and Bonnie, sisters Patricia and Anita, his great nephew Steven and nephew James.
No funeral service will be held at his request. Lastly, if not for Kincheloe and Tonso Family Dentistry, the family would have never been able to have Stephen around for these last few years. The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Kincheloe and Dr. Tonso.
