Stephen (Steve) Michael Romano, born on August 4, 1955, in Plainfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the age of 69. A man of moderate Christian faith, Steve was an integral part of his community, contributing greatly to the Trinity Presbyterian Church and leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Steve was a devoted father and grandfather, known for his unwavering love and support. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he is survived by his beloved sons, Michael Romano and Nash Romano, a daughter Ashley Ludman, his brother Phillip Romano, and his sister Cindy Romano. Stephen's family and friends will always remember his warm smile, kind heart, and the joy he brought into their lives.
A talented musician, Stephen's passion for music was evident to all who had the pleasure of hearing him play. He performed along the Grand Strand for many years with his groups "Sway" and "The Boogie Brothers". His dedication to his craft inspired many, and his legacy will continue through the music he loved so dearly. His musical talents were not just a pastime but a testament to his creative spirit and the joy he found in sharing his gift with others.
Steve obtained an A.A.S. degree in Musical Instrument Technology from the State University of New York in 1977. He went on to found two businesses in Myrtle Beach, Roadwork Mobile Stereo and R.M.S. Productions.
A funeral service to honor Stephen's life will be held on May 31, 2025, at 3 pm at Ocean Woods Cemetery. In Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Friends and family are invited to come together in celebration of a life well-lived, to share memories, and to say their final goodbyes.
Stephen Michael Romano was loved and cherished by many. His love for music will forever live on in our hearts. As we remember him, let us honor his legacy by holding onto the joy he found in music and life. As Steve would often say, "Every time you pick up your guitar to play, play as if it's the last time."
