Stephen H. Shields

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Shields surrounded by the love of his family and friends on March 15, 2025. Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Andrea Shields, his sister Lisa Good, his children, June and Eric Villers, Katy Shields, Rachel and Stephen Kelly, David Durant, as well as his grandchildren Cole and Ethan Villers, and Alice and Henry Durant.
Stephen was born in Dallas, TX on July 2, 1951. His love of chemistry and the sciences led him to achieve his Masters in Chemistry. His belief in constantly striving to expand his knowledge led him to a degree in Computer Science as well. By combining his knowledge in these fields, it led to expanding his career in the pharmaceutical industry, thereby, retiring as the Director of Computer Validation at Allergan Pharmaceuticals. After leaving the company, he continued consulting in that field which provided many exciting and unique travel experiences. Retirement with scattered consulting experiences while in Treasure Island, FL was truly a happy time for him. He loved to include family and friends in all his exploits including travel adventures, becoming captain of his boat, and game nights with all that were dear to him. Stephen's joy in spending time with those around him created treasured memories for all.
Rather than mourning, we will honor the love, laughter, and light he brought into our lives.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 11am with funeral service to follow at 12pm. Stephen will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at St Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Ave, St Petersburg, FL 33701, Phone: 858-602-2966, starting at 2:15 pm.
