STEPHEN LEE SMYCZYNSKI, born on October 11th, 1955 in Tawas City Michigan, to Chester Smyczynski & Anna "Marie" Proper. Stephen passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 in Missouri City, TX., after a long battle with cancer. Even though he was often in pain, when asked how he was, his typical response would be, "I'm a blessed man". He was looking forward to celebrating his 70th birthday in just 8 days, but the good Lord had another plan.
Stephen was preceded in death by his son, the late Travis Smyczynski, a loss that touched his heart deeply. Stephen is survived by his daughter, Christina Beshears of Walla Walla WA, two grandchildren, Alexis (Justin Banks) Beshears and Rashaun Square. One Great-Granddaughter, Saylor Banks. both parents, Chester Smyczynski & Marie Proper, Tawas City-MI, three brothers, Thomas (Elly) Smyczynski Harrison MI, Craig (Molly) Smithfield Gilbert-AZ, Michael (Berniece) Smyczynski Dewitt-MI, and one sister Laura (Greg) Kendall, Tawas City-MI, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A special heart felt thank you to Mr. Michael Gayle of Italis Independent Living, Missouri City, TX, for 13 years of care and friendship to Stephen! Stephen's family is forever grateful.
Cremation will take place, per Stephen's wishes. A private family gathering will be held later.
