It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Bowling, 72, of London, KY, who left this world on May 6, 2025. Born in Oneida, KY, on August 21, 1952, Steve was known for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic, passion for racing, and devotion to family and friends.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kay Bowling of London, KY; his children, Scott Rudder and Stephanie Ward, both of London, KY; and his grandchildren, Kaiden, Kali, Kendal, and Kilah Ward of London, KY, and Ashley Henson of Manchester, KY. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Bowling-Cottrell, and her husband Jerry Muncy of Manchester, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Esther Bowling of Manchester, KY; his brothers Owen, E.G., and Ralph Bowling, all of Manchester, KY; and his daughter, Joan Henson of Manchester, KY.
Steve was a dedicated member of Weaver Baptist Church, where he found joy in singing in the choir and serving his community with faith and love.
Professionally, Steve was a truck driver for over 30 years-a career that showcased his dedication and tireless work ethic. His commitment to hard work was well-known by all who knew him, extending far beyond the cab of his truck to every task he took on.
In his free time, Steve could be found at the London Dragway, racing his black Chevy or cheering on his friends most Saturdays. His love for fast cars was well-known, and the racetrack was his second home-a place where he shared laughter, competition, and lasting memories.
Steve Bowling will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community that loved him, but his legacy of love, hard work, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A funeral service honoring Steve Bowling will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Ronnie Owens and Randy Philpot officiating. Interment will follow at Rough Creek Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Kaiden Ward, Noah Rudder, Jason Gross, Marc Rudder, Jerry Muncy, Josh Bowling, Charles Bowling, Lesley Gross, Jason Rudder and Nathan Rudder. Scott Rudder is an honorary pallbearer. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.

So sorry to hear of Steve´s passing. He is my first cousin on my dad´s side. Dad was Steve´s uncle Alex Bowling. People use to mix Steve and my brother Robert up. They looked a lot alike when they were younger. Steve´s pastor, Ronnie Owen, was my SS teacher at Calvary Baptist church in London before he surrendered to the ministry.. Prayers for comfort and peace for the family.
