Steve Lawlor, 53, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Rockford, Illinois, passed away at his home on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Steve was born on October 22, 1970, in Utica, New York, the son of Richard Allen and Patricia May (St. Pierre) Lawlor. In 1990, Steve graduated from Jefferson High School in Rockford, Illinois. Steve enlisted into the United States Army in 1992, where he retired as a sergeant after twenty-one years of service.
Steve loved spending time with his son, Michael, playing catch in the park, traveling, riding the roller coasters at Six Flags, and playing video games together. Steve's passion was cooking. He was a true "grill master" making everything from steaks to chicken. He was a fan of all the Chicago sports teams through and through, especially "Da Bears" and "Da Cubs". Whenever he could, Steve loved playing basketball, baseball, and football. Steve really liked all sports.
Steve was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever needed one. He was a kind, caring, and compassionate person.
Steve is survived by his son, Michael Lawlor; brothers, Richard Lawlor Jr, and Robert Lawlor; sister, Bonnie (Karl) Schmidhamer; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Jordan, Cameron, Nicole, Karly, Robert, Olivia, and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Patricia Lawlor; and a sister, Lisa Mulcahy.
Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin is honored to be assisting the family. Online condolences can be shared at www.hansengravitt.com
