Steve went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2024 surrounded by his family and heavenly peace.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Charlotte Pennington.
He is survived by his wife Lisa of over 39 years; as well as their 3 children Steven James, Kristi, and Baylee; and grandchildren Makenlie and Brance; his brother Mike; and sisters Becky and Pam as well as a large extended family and friends who have become family.
Steve "Tarz'n" lived a blessed life full of love. His role as a husband and father was the most special of all, always bringing comfort and certainly laughter to their lives and home. He served at UPS for 38 years, retiring as a feeder driver in 2022. He's since enjoyed spending time with his family and was recently able to move them to the home they'd dreamed of since before anyone can even remember.
Steve loved telling old hunting and fishing stories of years gone by almost as much as everyone enjoyed hearing them. When asked, he'd respond that he had done everything he could have possibly wanted in his life, but we know he'd have been happy to have another Cowboys Super Bowl - Maybe he'll get to see that in Heaven!
Tarz'n was adored by everyone whose path he crossed and leaves behind a family who will miss him terribly but is counting down the days to be reunited again in Heaven!
A family visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Yarnaby Assembly of God in Hendrix, Oklahoma.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Yarnaby Assembly of God in Hendrix, Oklahoma with Bro. Lynn Speake officiating.
