Stevenson G. Riffe, 69 of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He was born in Iaeger, West Virginia to the late Lark and Willie Riffe, Sr.
Raised in Ikes Fork, West Virginia, Steve graduated from Baileysville High School in 1970 where he met and married the love of his life. He worked in the coal mines and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iaeger until he and his family moved to East Tennessee in 1999.
Steve was a man of God and loved the Lord. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and watching college sports. He loved spending time with his family and gathering for meals, especially when they ended in watermelon, ice cream, or both. He was always smiling, joking, and playing pranks, even though he had a scowl on his face most days. Steve was truly an amazing husband and showed his children nothing but support and love. He was cherished by all his family and friends and will be missed.
Along with his parents, Steve is preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and his best buddy, Scout.
Those left to cherish Steve's memory include: his wife of nearly 52 years, Judy; children, Melissa and Robert Reese, Stephanie and Jonathan Brooks, and Eden and Joseph Cumm; grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Alison, Kaylee, Dale, and Haley (Justin); great-grandchildren, Kaysyn, Azra, and Josyah; siblings, James and Tanya Riffe, Gene and Kathy Riffe, Larkin Riffe, Jr., and Pam and Joe Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family will gather to greet friends and family at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City, Tennessee on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. until a service beginning at 4:00 P.M. An additional Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Iaeger in Iaeger, West Virginia on Saturday, June 25, 2022 beginning at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
Memories and condolences may be shared at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com. Tetrick Funeral Services 3001 Peoples Street Johnson City, TN 37604 (423-610-7171) is honored to serve the Riffe Family.

Judy I am so sorry about Steve and that Mike and I were unable to attend his celebration of life at Iaeger First Baptist. We have so many good memories of all going to church there together. We are praying for you, Melissa, Stephanie and Eden. May God bless you and comfort you now and in the days ahead.
