Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Pastor Steven Bauer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.

Steve is survived by his children, Scott Ahlers (special friend, Sara Perkins), Denise (Jacob) Vlaminck; step-daughter, Kim Zahn; grandchildren, Andrew, Kelsey, Jordan; step-grandchild, Seantae Read; brothers, Donovan, Robert (Sharlene), Marvin (Sandy), and Warren Ahlers; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joann; second wife, Doris; and sister-in-law, Beate Ahlers.
Steven Larry Ahlers was born January 3, 1945 to Albert and Hazel (Sieh) Ahlers in New Ulm. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1962. Steve was united in marriage to Joann Groebner in 1969 and they had two children together. The couple later divorced and Steve remarried in 1994 to Doris Zahn. Steve dedicated his life to working at the local cooperative, where he specialized in replacing farm tires on site. He also enjoyed watching Minnesota sports teams, going bowling, fishing, and heading to the family lake. Steve will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
