Ted is survived by his son, Jordan (Ashley Liebl) Ahlbrecht of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; his sisters-in-law, Julie Ahlbrecht of Gibbon, Marnie Ahlbrecht of Gibbon; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Todd, Terry, Tom, and Marvin Ahlbrecht Jr; an infant sister; his niece, Naomi Peterson; and his close significant other, Chris Kent.

Theodore "Ted" Bryan Ahlbrecht was born November 4, 1950, in Gaylord, Minnesota to Marvin Sr. and Myrtle "Mutz" Ahlbrecht. Growing up on his family farm near Gibbon, Ted attended Prairie Lutheran Grade School and was a 1968 graduate of Gibbon High School. Early in his life, Ted learned the plumbing trades from his family, but later owned and operated the Mark-ett Grocery Store in Fairfax. After the store was lost in a fire, Ted returned to plumbing and went back into farming with his family. He went on to own and operate Ted's Plumbing and Heating for many years until his retirement in 2010.

Outside of work, Ted found joy in simple pleasures. He loved watching football and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and especially visiting with friends and neighbors. Ted had a gift for conversation and truly valued the time spent catching up with the neighbors over a Diet Mt. Dew or a cold drink. Those friendships meant a great deal to him, and his ability to connect with others was one of his defining traits. For many years, he also proudly served his community as a member of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department. Ted was known for his humor, his stubborn streak, and his tireless work ethic. He believed in putting in an honest day's work and passed that value on to his family. Above all, Ted was deeply proud of his family, and nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by them.

His legacy is one of hard work, laughter, love for family, and the friendships that brightened his days. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
