Steven Michael Benton, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 68. Cherished son of the late Lloyd and Patricia Benton; devoted father of Andrew Benton and Daniel (Kimberly) Benton; loving grandfather of Olivia, Riley, Lillie, and Ella Benton; dear brother of Linda S. (John) Oates; loving uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.
Steve had a long career as a general foreman at Hitchiner Manufacturing/O’Fallon Casting. He also spent some time early in his life volunteering on the O’Fallon, MO. Parks and Recreation board and was an active member of the OCAC.
Steve for many years enjoyed coaching and watching his sons play baseball. During these years, many weekends were spent at the ballfields with his family and friends doing what they love and making lifelong memories. Steve also enjoyed bowling in a weekly men’s league at O’Fallon Bowl for many years. He loved to be outside fishing, gardening, spending time at the pool, and doing yardwork, as he kept a meticulous lawn.
Later in life, Steve moved up north to Frankford, MO. He made many dear friends and enjoyed being in the country. He had a large garden that he was so proud of and enjoyed coffee many mornings at the local gas station with dear friends and neighbors.
Eventually, Steve moved from Frankford to St. Peters to be closer to family. Once he was closer, he looked forward to weekly Friday night dinners with his son, Andy, and getting to spend more time with his beloved granddaughters and watching their various activities.
Steven was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
