Steven Wayne Butler Jr of Dickson, TN passed away on June 18, 2023 at the age of 32. He was born on April 29, 1991 to Steven Butler and Susan Taylor, and he was raised by the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home from the seventh grade through his graduation from Brentwood High School in 2010. He enjoyed playing Xbox, watching the Memphis Grizzlies and Tennessee Titans, and helping anyone he could. Steven gave money for meals to individuals in need, drove neighbors and friends to doctors’ appointments, assisted patients in finding their way around the hospital, and often took the time to make a young child smile. For many years, he served on the production team by operating a camera at The People’s Church (now Church of the City) in Franklin, TN, and it made him sad when he moved from the area and could no longer participate. He was preceded in death by his mother. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father, his brother Shannon Butler (and wife Sonia), beloved nephews (Liam and Tyler) and niece (Blair), his house parents and friends from the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, his coworkers at TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, and his visiting family of eighteen years Heather Norvell and family. Several small private services will be held to celebrate Steven’s life by groups of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home in Steven’s honor.
