Steven L. Choat, 58, of St. Edward, NE, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at church.
Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Steven Lynn Choat, son of Alan Clarence and Judith Joy (Roberts) Choat was born on February 8, 1966, at Columbus, NE. He was baptized on September 11, 1966, and later confirmed on April 27, 1980, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. Steven attended Albion Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1984.
Steven was a jack of all trades. He owned and operated Choat Trucking, took care of horses, sold insurance with his uncle Lynn, and sold trailers with his father. He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of AQHA.
Steven enjoyed taking care of and riding horses, classic cars and Ford pickups. When it came to his "big rig" he was a Kenworth truck guy. Steven loved his four-legged companions and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Steven is survived by his mother: Judith Choat of Albion, NE; sister: Cynthia Johnson of Grand Island, NE; two nephews: Kyle (Amber) Majerus of St. Edward, NE; Tyler Majerus of Grand Island, NE; one niece: Lacy Majerus of Grand Island, NE; two great-nephews: Cory and Cole Jochem; one great-niece: MaKyleigh Majerus; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father: Alan Choat; brother: Scott Choat; two nephews: Cody and Zachary Majerus; and brother-in-law: Verl Johnson.
