Steven A. Conrad

Steven A. Conrad, 70, of West Milford, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. He was born in Passaic on February 21,1954, raised in West Paterson, and graduated from Passaic Valley High School. Steve proudly served as a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force during the 1970's, and was a machinist at Magnatrol Valve Corp in Hawthorne for the past 35 years. Steve was a lifelong Yankees fan and enjoyed classic rock music. He made many memories with family & friends at concerts and games throughout his life. Steve loved reading western novels, particularly Louis L'Amour - a hobby he shared with his cherished father, Art. Steve lived life to the fullest, but also enjoyed the simple things like sitting on his back deck watching the beauty of nature around him.
Steve is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters Jill Krawiec, and Denise (Doug) Heavener, grandsons Zackary & Andrew Heavener as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur & Jeanette Conrad, sister Barbara, brother William, daughter Janice, son Arthur, and his golden retrievers Bella & Buddy. Family meant everything to Steve, and while we are heartbroken without him, we take comfort in the fact that he has been reunited with those he loved & missed so dearly.
Let's all raise a glass of Johnnie Walker Black in Steve's memory while we listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd describe him best:
"Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change"
Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ. Per his wishes, Steve will be privately cremated without any services.
