Steven Bradley Denning, 76 passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in Logan, Utah. He was born on October 20, 1948, in Butte, Montana, to Ardell and Vazele B. Denning. He grew up living in Montana, Arizona, Wyoming and Logan.
He was a graduate of Logan High school where he enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree In Marketing and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Steven married his high school sweetheart Joyce Ann Erickson Denning on September 20, 1968 in the Logan Temple, and together they built a beautiful life and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a loving caregiver to Joyce through many years of health issues until she passed in 2011. Steven and Joyce raised seven children. He was a proud grandfather to 32 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren each of whom brought him tremendous joy. After Joyce’s passing he later married Cindy Hammond Nielson.
Steven worked for Moores Business forms and 30 plus years as a procurement specialist at Thiokol. He took great pride in his contributions to the space program. He made lasting friendships in both careers. He had a deep love for construction and spent countless hours building homes of his own as well as helping his children build their homes. Even in retirement, he loved to drive by homes under construction and watch the progress.
Steven was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings and also in a student ward bishopric. He loved spending time at Bear Lake and Hyrum Dam boating with his family. He loved supporting his grandchildren in everything they did whether a dance recital, a ball game, or a school performance. Steve was always there with a smile. He found joy in the simple things — lunch at Kicks with friends, daily rides around the valley, family get togethers, and being near the ones he loved.
Steven was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce, his parents, Ardell and Vazele B. Denning, in-laws Austin and Norma Erickson. He is survived by his brother Scott (Cora) Denning, sister Janice Denning Curtis, and his seven children: Tifani (Chad) Williams, Tami (Brian) Jenson, Todd (Jill) Denning, Traci (Jake) Hall, Troy (Rachel) Denning, Tori (Adam) Andersen, and Tyler (Leslie) Denning. His legacy lives on in his posterity and all those whose lives he touched with his gentle spirit and quiet strength.
We would like to express our gratitude to those who showed incredible kindness and care to our dad, including close friends, neighbors, employees at Kicks, Maple Springs, Logan Dialysis Center, Primrose Hospice, Dr. Bradley Chambers, Dr. Trevor Smith, Robin Hogland NP, and many compassionate dialysis nurses who became his friends.
