Mr. Steven A. Dixon, 65, passed away unexpectedly April 7, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born October 29, 1958, in Muskegon and graduated from Fruitport High school. He worked for Eagle Ottawa Leather Company in Grand Haven for several years and moved to Buckley in 1997. He finished his working career at Sara Lee Bakery in Traverse City. Steve also did foster care for a few years and cared for his father who had Alzheimer's until he passed away. Steve loved spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed going out to eat, riding motorbikes with his buddy, and always looked forward to his annual trip to Mackinac Island. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he absolutely loved his doggies! On April 23rd, 1982, Steve married Debra (Krol) Dixon and she preceded him in death on February 2nd, 1991. He is also preceded in death by his brother Harry Dixon and parents, Leroy and Angeline Dixon. Survivors include his children Sara Dixon, Steven Dixon II, Scott Dixon, his two grandchildren Parker and Isabell Dixon, his two sisters Sandy (Joe) Meeuwsen, Cathy (Frank) Tumele, and his brother Gary Dixon, his two sisters- in- law Sandy Krol and Paulette Mines and one brother-in- law David Krol, and many nieces and nephews. A service to remember and celebrate Steve's life will be held Thursday, May 23rd at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will be from 10am-11am with the service starting at 11am. Burial will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery with the family. Contributions in memory of Mr. Dixon may be made to the American Heart Association.
