Steven Roger Ferguson

Steven Ferguson, age 71, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Steve, an HVAC technician by trade, began working for Knox County Schools after graduation. He later held other jobs where his sense of humor and caring nature earned him many friends. Most recently, he was employed with the University of Tennessee Facilities Services, where he worked alongside many friends, including his great-nephew, Andrew. He especially enjoyed working at home football games. Steve was proud of his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. He had the joy of seeing both of his children graduate from the University of Tennessee and his oldest granddaughter begin her first semester there. He also enjoyed watching his youngest granddaughter pursue her journey to a black belt in mixed martial arts. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Naomi; siblings Shirley, Loretta, Carollynn, and Gary "Fitch"; and niece, Gina. Left to grieve his loss are his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Amanda "Amy" (Jamie); son, Cody; granddaughters, Aylee and Paisley; brother, Randy; nephew, Tim; nieces Krystyl and Rachel; great-niece, Ashley; as well as other extended family and friends. We find comfort in knowing his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will forever cherish. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. Alan Smith. A private interment will be held at Bookwalter Cemetery.
