Steven P. Florent, 77, died Friday morning, September 29, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of 47 years of Deborah A. (Delmonico) Florent of Brockton. Born and raised in New Bedford, he was a graduate of New Bedford High School. Steven was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam War. After his Honorable Discharge, he returned home and began working at the VA Hospital in Brockton where he met his future wife Deborah. He was a dedicated husband, father and “Pepe” who cherished the time he spent with his family and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, James F. O’Rourke of RI and MSG Bryan E. O’Rourke, US Army, and his wife MAJ Sarah O'Rourke, US Army of OH as well as his daughter in law Cynthia O’Rourke.
