Steven Gomez

Mr. Steven Gomez, aka "Slick", 64 of Vale, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in his mother's home here in Newnan, GA. He was born in Manhattan, New York on December 21, 1960. The family lived in Geneva, Switzerland, for a few years, then moved back to New York (Queens), before relocating to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Finally, they settled in the USA, where Steven initially settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, before moving to Vale.
He began working with his hands and embarked on a career in the printing industry, where he learned every aspect of the trade and became a mentor to many students who appreciated his knowledge. His true passion was Woodworking, and he would immerse himself in his workshop, becoming an excellent craftsman in that trade as well. He had two prized possessions: his Harley and the first truck he owned and kept working on until his battle with cancer was lost.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home for the immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his property in Vale, North Carolina, where Steven had chosen for his ashes to be spread by his many friends and family.
Steven is survived by his wife, Aida Gomez (62), his mother, Maria Gomez (97), and his sister, Susan Todd (68), both of Newnan, Georgia.
