It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steven Francis Hafley II, known to friends and loved ones as Steven. Born on July 25, 1986, in Berrien Center, MI, Steven was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him, shining with an intensity that will be sorely missed. His life was a testament to the words of Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."
Steven lived his life with passion and a fierce commitment to his values. He made a home in Niles, Michigan, where he brought joy to everyone around him. Though he never sought employment, Steven never was idle. His life was filled with purpose and meaning, contributing positively to the world around him in his own unique way. He was an individual who didn't need a formal job title to make a difference, his contributions were significant in their own right. His life was a vivid demonstration of the truth in Aristotle's wisdom, "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts."
Steven is survived by his loving parents, Michelle and Steven Hafley. Though he never married, Steven's life was rich with relationships and camaraderie. His love for his family and friends was a beacon that guided him throughout his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, his infectious laugh, his unwavering loyalty, and his dedication to those he loved.
In the words of Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die. For love is immortality." Steven's light continues to shine in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will live on, a testament to a life well-lived.
We encourage all who knew and loved Steven to share their memories of him on his memorial page. Your stories, photos, and tributes will serve as a comfort to those mourning his loss and as a celebration of Steven's beautifully lived life.
