Steven Earl Hager, loving father, grandfather and friend, was born on January 5, 1974 in Peoria, Illinois and passed away on December 13, 2024, in Bascom, Florida.
Steve was a graduate of Grand Ridge High School, class of 1992, where he made lifelong friends and memories. He spent many years working for Ducky Johnson House Moving Company and Lollie Mobile Home Moving Company. His colleagues knew him for his work ethic and humor. You'd never catch him in any other shoes than work boots.
Steve was a man of many passions. Steve loved fishing, and found solace outdoors. Steve's love for action was evident as he was the biggest fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme movies, rock music and arm wrestling. He was always up for a trip to the steak house or a homemade pan of lasagna.
Above all, Steve cherished the time spent with his beloved sons, Tristin (Ashlyn) Hager and Skyler Hager. The birth of his grandson, Tate Hager, brought a new level of joy to Steve's life. His favorite role was "grandfather" and the moments he shared with Tate were among the happiest of his life.
Steve was often described as funny, friendly to all, with a spirited nature. He had the ability to light up a room with his smile and wit. His laughter was a gift that he gave freely, and it will echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
Steve accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in July of 2024 at Sneads Assembly of God.
As we say goodbye to Steven Earl Hager, we celebrate a life lived. He fought hard for his life and we know he is at peace now.
Steve's life will be honored and remembered, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM CST and Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM CST at Sneads Assembly of God.
