Steven was the beloved father of Thomas Steven Jakubiec (Raeanna) and Jillian Margaret Jakubiec (Denny). He was a proud and loving brother to Rosemary Cairns and brother-in-law to Debbie Jakubiec. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Thomas Jakubiec; his brother, Kenneth Jakubiec; and his brother-in-law, Michael Cairns.
Steven spent 35 years as a dedicated engineer with Chrysler, where his expertise and leadership skills left a lasting legacy. After retiring, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of living on a picturesque property in Fenton, Michigan, where he enjoyed his final months.
An avid outdoorsman, Steven's greatest joys were hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, playing pickleball, and traveling. Whether he was navigating snowy trails, casting a line into serene waters, or perfecting his golf swing, Steven found peace and fulfillment in nature. His adventurous spirit and love for exploration were infectious, inspiring those around him to appreciate life's simple pleasures.
Steven was also incredibly resourceful and served as the family handyman for his community. His ability to solve problems and lend a helping hand endeared him to all who knew him.
Steven's family and friends will forever remember his warm heart, unyielding strength, and the countless memories he created with those he cherished most. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Steven's life will be held on January 11 from noon to 4 p.m. at The Oakley, 11035 Fish Lake Rd, Holly, MI 48442. This will be an open house, with speeches scheduled at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), in honor of Steven's memory.
May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before him.
