AUBURN__ Steven M. Johnson, 67, of Auburn died in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He is survived by the "love of his life", his wife of forty-two years, Linda (Midura) Johnson. He also leaves his children, Corey Johnson and his wife Kristin of Auburn, Connor Johnson and his wife Danielle of Northbridge; daughters, Brianne Johnson of Auburn, Shannon Lavin and her husband Brian of Putnam, CT., grandchildren, Drew, Theo, Lynn and Cameron; siblings, Kenneth Johnson and his wife Sandra of Worcester, Kevin Johnson and his wife Cassie of Leicester and Dawn Lotsbom and her husband Robert of Sutton; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, John Johnson. Born in Burlington, VT., he was the son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Kane) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson graduated from Doherty Memorial High School. He worked many years as a production inspector for Norton - St. Gobain prior to retirement. He was devoted to his family throughout his life, coaching his children's many sports teams, attending events, fishing with them and using his woodworking skills to make them toys and furnishings. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his lawn as well as riding his "Harley" and summers on Cape Cod. Steve was an avid Yankee's fan. He loved golf and did successfully get a hole in one in 2022 at Pine Ridge Country Club. He enjoyed watching football, golf, baseball, hockey and basketball. He loved spending time with his four grandchildren and would give them the world. He was the joy in Linda's life. His humor was overwhelming, and he made his family laugh with each witty comment. Steve was a caring, kind man who was always welcoming.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Korapati and the fifth and sixth floor staff in the ACC at UMMHC for their dedication and kindness to Steven's care.
