Steven W. Justus was born on November 3, 1942, to Alex & Ruth Justus in San Diego, CA. He was the first of 3 siblings. He was always a hard worker and helped his mom with 1,000 laying hens as soon as he was old enough and had a paper route as well. He was a star football player at his AAAA high school and could have played in college but instead married his high school sweetheart, Diane Froslie on December 15, 1961. He then began an electrical apprenticeship with IBEW and continued to work as an electrician until will into his 70's. Many people benefited from his skill and the meager amount that he charged for his services.

He lived in many places over the years, moving in search of work or for family reasons. They left Anaheim, CA in 1969, living in Whitmore, CA, Klamath Falls, OR, Buckley, WA, and settled on Whidbey Island, WA, for 12 years. Always looking for a less populated place with nicer people, they ended up in West Kootenai as home and kept in touch with many friends from there.

Steve came to an understanding of the Gospel at an early age in his life and was baptized in the Baptist Church. He loved God and made sure that his children were in church every Sunday just as he had been as a child. He was a faithful giver and tither and attended many churches over the years with all the relocations. Baptist, a hippy church, Assembly of God and last but not least, West Kootenai Community Church.

Steve was a great husband, dad, grandpa, and provider. Still married to his high school sweetheart after 62 years. He and Diane had 3 children who were blessed for having such great parents. His kids always knew that he loved them. We never went without. He was hard working, honest, faithful, and generous to a fault. Oh, if only the world had more men like him. I'm sure that he will hear the words, well done, good and faithful servant, from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Steve went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2024.

He was preceded by his mother, Ruth, in 1975 and his father, Alex, in 2002. His sister, Kathy, in 2021, and his brother, David, March 2024. He leaves behind his wife Diane, son Ken of Kila, MT, son Scott of Whidbey Island, WA, and daughter Karen of Green Bay, WI. He has 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A special thanks to all their great caregivers at Brendan House where they have resided since January 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, on June 1, 2024, at Grace Church in Kalispell, Montana. A graveside service will follow at 2:00PM, in Eureka, Montana, at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery.
