Steven Charles Lueloff "Stosh", 73, of Elkhart Lake, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours on Saturday, March 16, 2024 surrounded by his family. Steve had fought a valiant fight with achalasia for the last 7 years and a one-year battle with prostate cancer, which returned after a 15-year remission. He battled many other health challenges throughout the past year and fought them allwith great strength, resilience, and relentless courage without complaints. Steven was born February 17, 1951, in Sheboygan, to the late Stanley and Ruth (Fischer) Lueloff. He grew up in Elkhart Lake and Plymouth and attended St. John Lutheran School and Plymouth High School. On May 21, 1977, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Thuecks at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The couple lived in Plymouth for several years before moving to Elkhart Lake in 1986. Steve and Cheryl were blessed with two amazing children whom he loved very much. Steve began his working career tending bar at Casey's Bowling Alley and Oak Park before starting at Kohler Company in 1976. Steve worked as a laborer in the pottery department for 38 years, retiring in 2014. Steven was an avid sports fan and had an unwavering passion for the Wisconsin Badgers and the Chicago Cubs. When he was younger, he had a great passion for bowling and bowled at various establishments throughout the county, but one of his greatest bowling accomplishments was taking third place in the Bowling with the Champs Tournament, which aired on Channel 11. He also enjoyed coaching softball and junior league bowling, along with camping with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was fishing, and you could either find him fishing on Lake Winnebago or just sitting in his boat at home, tinkering around with something. He enjoyed attending his kid's sporting events: his daughter's softball games and his son's football games. He was very proud of both.
Steven is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his son, Jeremy (Sara); his daughter, Danielle Schultz (friend, Steven Meyer) and his two precious grandboys: Jack Lueloff and Bennett Schultz. He is further survived by his siblings: Barb (Bruce) Otte and Marjorie "Mutzie" (Ronald) Platz; his in-laws: Charlotte (David) Limberg, Karen (Stu) Sturzl, Wayne (Kay) Thuecks, Mitch (Anne Senkowski) Thuecks, Lynne Keller and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Ruth (Fischer) Lueloff, his in-laws: Roland and Ethel (Turba) Thuecks, a nephew, Daniel Thuecks, a niece, Leah Keller, his brother-in-law, David Schmidt, his stepfather, Leslie Witte, his paternal and maternal grandparents, and his many canine companions.
