Steven L. Maple

Steven L. Maple, (SMSGT Ret., USAF), age 65 of Greencastle, PA passed away at his home on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Born in Richmond, CA on October 23, 1956, he was the son of the late Henry Maple and Virginia Asbury Tapley.
A 1974 graduate of Dublin High School in Dublin, CA, Steve went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic for 24 years, retiring in 1999. He continued his career after retirement, working for Northrup Grumman for 10 years, again retiring in 2011. Steven was a graduate of Capella University in 2008 with his Bachelor Degree and he had earned his Master's from Phoenix University in 2016. He was a member of the Veterans of Vietnam War, Post 41, the American Legion Post 373, and the VFW Post 6319. Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting pool, attending baseball games, nascar races, and football games with his family, tinkering in the garage, anything with airplanes, spending time with family, especially grandchildren and cheering on the Oakland A's and San Francisco 49er's.
Surviving is his wife of 16 years, Tami Spencer Maple, whom he married on December 16, 2005; eight children, Dustin Spencer of Greencastle, PA, William Maple (wife Bailey) of Chambersburg, PA, Kirstin Blank (wife Wanda) of Greencastle, PA, Matthew Maple of Chambersburg, PA, Samantha Herrington (husband Dylan) of Chambersburg, PA, Dakotah West (fiancé Christina) of Pleasant Hall, PA, Joseph Komorsky (wife Stacee) of CA, and Jeremiah Komorsky of ND; two granddaughters, Zoë Alleman of Chambersburg, PA and Arabella Vianey of Greencastle, PA; and two siblings, Patricia Morgan (husband Mike) and Mark Maple (wife Laura); and several nieces, a nephew, many other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hal and Christopher Maple.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
