Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williamson - White Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Amery on Mar. 11, 2026.
Our Bestest good friend Papa was born June 20th, 1963 in St Paul Minnesota. His family settled in
Clear Lake, WI for Steven's formative years. After a turbulent childhood Steven graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1981. Upon graduation Steven enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent his time serving as military police in Germany where he met his first wife, with whom he shares three children. After being honorably discharged, Steven moved back to Wisconsin where, in 1988, he met the love of his life Denise Wilson, with whom he also shares three children.
Steven and Denise Married on November 16, 1996 at Little Falls Lutheran Church and settled down with their family in
Clear Lake, WI. Steven worked for Land O Lakes, later Advanced Food Products, for more than 20 years. Steven was a hardworking, fun loving, family man that enjoyed spending his time on all day long fishing trips with his son, son in law, and grandson, looking for agates, watching the Packers, cooking shows, or shows about vikings, playing war thunder, skyrim, Red dead redemption, and rocket league on his playstation, doing literally anything with his grandbabies, drinking Busch Light, and driving his wife, Denise, looney (his cabbage patch skills were unmatched).
In April of 2025, two days after moving into a new home to enjoy his retirement, Steven suffered a fall at Regions Hospital resulting in him becoming a Quadriplegic overnight. From Regions, Steven was transferred to Golden Age Manor, close to home where his daughter worked, to continue his extensive therapy to regain the use of his limbs. After months of hard work, determination, unbelievable strength, and daily rides home with his older grandsons Steven was regaining movement of his fingers when he was diagnosed with an aggressive and rapidly spreading cancer. Chemo proved itself too hard on Steven's already weakened body and tragically on March 4th, 2026 Steven succumbed to the Cancer peacefully with his wife at his side.
Steven was a hilarious, intelligent, hardworking, kind, caring, loyal, protective, adoring, grumpy, and loving husband, Father, and Grandfather that was the first person to hold himself accountable for any and all of his failings and never stopped trying to make them right. Steven lived for his family and we will never be the same without him.
Steven was preceded in death by his Father: Kenneth Marz, Brother: David Marz, Father in Law: Vernon Wilson, and many other family members.
Steven's Legacy will be carried on by his wife: Denise Marz. His children: Melissa (Uchi) Campos, Brittany (Brandon Madison) Marz, Brandon Marz, and Kyrstin (Andrew Johnson) Marz. His Grandbesties: Ryley, Cashton, James, Miles, Makayla, Layla, Ella, Carson, Kayleigh "Tuppy", Jaymesyn, Oakley, Anne, Kora, Daxton, Duane, Emerson, Andrew Junior, David, and Ashy. His Mom: Debbie Wilson. His brothers Daniel (Terri) Wilson and James Ekre and many more friends and family.
Please join Steven's family at the Tac Two Bar & Grill in Amery at Noon on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 for Steven's Celebration of Life. Steven loved himself an ice cold Busch Light and warm conversation. So, please stop in, share stories, share memories, look at pictures, and help his family celebrate the great man that Steven was. There will be a place for cards and or donations to help with cremation costs, costs accrued during the worst year of the family's life so far, and any other costs for Denise to be able to rebuild after losing the love of her life.
